For some, Pailon del Diablo may be a very grotesque name or even inspire fear, however, this waterfall is one of the most visited by tourists who come to Ecuador, as it enchants each of its visitors for its extraordinary beauty.

El Pailon is located in the province of Tungurahua, in the city of Baños de Agua Santa, in the sector of Rio Verde, which was the original name of this natural landscape, until it was changed due to the unique shape of the devil's face that can be seen in the stones of the waterfall.

This waterfall has three high waterfalls and a drop of approximately 80 meters, making it one of the largest waterfalls in Ecuador. Among the main activities that can be performed in this attraction are:

  • Crossing the suspension bridge that provides a full view of the waterfall and all its attributes.
  • Descend by stairs to the so-called Devil's Balcony, which is located near the waterfall and you can feel all its magnificence.
  • Climb a path called Grieta al cielo, through which you must pass inclined due to its peculiar shape.

The crack to heaven and the devil's balcony have a history of their form, since it is considered that going to hell is a simple path with steps and handrails, while to go to heaven you must make an effort, overcome obstacles and difficulties, all based on the decisions you make in your life.

The pailon experience is considered incomparable, so a visit to this attraction will not disappoint anyone.
